Relaxation Reflection
I have done different relaxation techniques from previous classes and actually found this relaxation technique to be less effective for me. I'm sure it would be more effective for me if I tried it at a time when I felt stressed and needed to relax. Also, when I'm stressed I usually don't suffer from muscle tension. So performing a relaxation technique that is designed to relieve muscle tension in my arms and hands or whatever muscles I decide to send extra blood flow to probably won't be the most effective for me. I'm sure this technique would be more effective for someone who does suffer from muscle tension. I did notice a warming and tingling sensation in my arms and hands while performing the relaxation technique. It was a relaxing experience for me though, it's just that there are more effective relaxation techniques out there that suit my needs better than this particular one.

Erik,
ReplyDeletePersonally, the relaxation exercise helped me a great deal. However, I agree with your statement regarding different techniques for different people. I happen to expierence a lot of muscle tension on my sholders. Lately I've felt it more often. I happen to think it's because I'm not exercising much these days :b
Maria,
Erik,
ReplyDeleteI really have never tried relaxation techniques except in the previous classes that I have taken. I listened to this one while at work today and I found it to be very beneficial for me. I am one that suffers from muscle tension and I have been very stressed alot here lately. What kind of techniques do you use, if I may ask?
Wendy
Erik,
ReplyDeleteI am in that same crowd of shoulder stress huggers. Have you ever tried massage or chiropractic treatments? I use both on occasion and they both really help. I try to not let the muscles tightness build up too much. I agree with you that exercise is the best prevention. It keeps the muscles working and happy. I look forward to getting to know more about you.
